This course is intended to provide you with an opportunity to learn about the skills in macrame, a traditional method of knotting cord and create amazingly beautiful pieces for your home, including wall hangings, plant hangers, and accessories.
On this course, you will explore a variety of weaving techniques and skills using upcycled materials to create beautiful crafts for your home or give as gifts for special occasions and use those skills in an enterprise project.
During the course you will produce a portfolio of work towards the Level 1 Award in Life Living and Skills - Craft Pathway (AIM Qualifications). If you have already achieved the Open College Network West Midlands Level 1 Award in Craft Design or Craft and Enterprise you will not be eligible to join this course.
This FREE course will give you the opportunity to explore traditional Sashiko decorative stitching, precise pattern cutting and sewing techniques, and enjoy creative upcycling ideas using rag bag materials and felt to create some fun soft toy pieces, that are both 2 and 3 dimensional.
