Course overview

The course is intended for people who do not already have a qualification in maths and wish to gain a qualification in maths functional skills.

Session details

You must attend the information and assesment session to enrol on this course. At the information session, you will be asked to do a short assessment of your English and maths skills to check that the course is suitable for you.

Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over to be eligible for this course. You would not be eligible for this course if you have already achieved a Level 2 in maths (that is an ‘O’ level grade C or above, CSE grade 1, GCSE grade C or above, Functional Skills Level 2, Basic Skills or Skills for Life Level 2 or similar).                                     

If you already have a maths or English qualification and are unsure whether you are eligible to enrol onto a course, please come along to one of our information sessions and chat to the tutor who will check this with you.

Venue and accessibility

Oakengates Town Council’s new community venue is called The Wakes. The Wakes has an IT room with 10 networked computers. A formal meeting room for 20 people. Also a bigger room holding up to 120 people, although this can be made smaller. There is a café in the building and we have a lift and disabled toilets. We offer four levels of maths functional skills from Entry 2 through to Level 2. There is opportunity to progress between levels up to Level 2.
