Course overview

The course offers an opportunity to learn more about making easy-to-make handmade sweets in an informal and friendly environment with an experienced tutor.

At the end of the course, learners will know more:

  • about basic food safety
  • creating handmade sweets including coconut ice, peppermint creams and chocolate truffles
  • fruit treats as a healthier option
  • know more about balancing sweet treats and healthy eats into their family's diet

The course will be free to adults aged 19 or over.

Venue and accessibility

Donnington Wood Lifelong learning centre is located in St. Matthews Road, Donnington with rooms available to hire with computer access.           

The building has a community run café which offers a range of hot and cold drinks as well as sandwiches and snacks. Opening times vary.

There is some free parking available at the centre.

The centre has automatic doors and ramped access from the car park.
