Course will equip learners to know how to:

  • establish an addiction recovery coaching relationship,
  • use communication skills,
  • understand potential risk factors for violence and aggression,
  • recognise signs and symptoms of overdoses and abused substances,
  • understand about overdose management,
  • make referrals as an addition recovery coach
  • understand record keeping requirements.

Learners will gain an Addition Recovery Support Level 2 (3 credit unit) – (Open College Network West Midlands)

You must attend the information session where we will provide further information about the course. 

Places are limited and registering your interest and attending the information session does not guarantee a place on the course.


Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over to be eligible for this course.


The course is free if you are:

  • Unemployed
  • or you are employed and earn less than £15,736.50 annual gross salary


You will need to provide evidence of your income if you are employed and believe you are entitled to a free course. This could be a pay slip or contract of employment.


If you are employed, the course is part funded by the government and you will be required to make a contribution of £84. We also operate a fee remission policy, so if you earn more than £15,736.50 per year but still cannot afford to pay for course you can apply for support. This may mean you get the course for free.   Please contact us if you would like to make an application.
