Course overview

The course studies English at entry level covering the three main components of language: Reading, Writing and Speaking & Listening. Students will practice their skills in these areas through topical learning that is relevant to their life and work in the UK. By successfully completing this course, there is the opportunity to undertake nationally recognised ESOL exams at a level appropriate to the learner.

Eligibility criteria

This course is only available to parents/carers with children attending the school.  There may be places for adults in the local community who do not have children in the school.  Please contact Jane Griffiths at the school if this applies to you.

Learners must be aged 19 or over to be eligible for this course. The course is free if you are: • Unemployed and have a child in the school. If you are employed, the course is part funded by the government and you will be required to make a contribution. Please contact us for more details. You can apply for a reduction to this fee if you feel it is unaffordable given your circumstances. Please contact us if you would like to make an application.
