Always wanted to learn at a higher level but thought it was out of reach?
This short course will give you all the information you need to understand how to get yourself to university and beyond via our excellent Access to Higher Education programmes.
Why go to uni? You will meet the Access to HE team and learn all about the diplomas we offer: Education, and, Health Professionals. You will learn how this gateway course to Higher Education can lead to an array of degrees and ultimately career paths, not just in Education or Health, that require degree level study. We will talk you through the pattern of study and the units each diploma covers as well as how you earn vital UCAS points when you study with us.
Remember the Access to HE is equivalent to three A-Levels and is not for the faint hearted- but it is a life changing and incredibly rewarding diploma. We'll inform you of what attributes and skills you need to go the distance and reach you university goal.
Are you eligible? There are some important requirements to be able to undertake the course that we will guide you through.
Guest speakers include university lecturers as well as our students past and present. You will also hear from our student finance expert from the Student Loans Company.
Not sure where to start or how to achieve your goal? You will create an action plan of what you need to do to find out more about what you want to study at university and how to get there.
Want a flavour of what it's like? We'll give you an example assignment to look at so you understand what A2HE level work looks like and how we build your academic skills to prepare you for university- you are not expected to know this when you start your diploma with us but you'll be an expert by the end!
Our representative from the Student Loans Company will be on hand talk to you about the funding available to cover the cost of your Access to HE diploma as well as what student finance looks like when you finally reach uni.
