Course overview

This FREE course will help you develop the skills you need to use search and apply for jobs online.  You'll be introduced to job search websites and shown how to refine searches to areas of interest.  There will be advice on online networks and using online platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom that are often  part of recruitment processes.  Our experienced tutor will also provide tips on using word processing to develop a winning CV.

Whether you are a jobseeker looking for work, thinking about returning to work after a break, or considering a career change this course will help you make the most of ICT to find your preferred job.

This course is suitable for learners who have some basic IT skills and are able to use a PC or laptop.   If you are new to computing, look out for our Computer Confidence course.

Learners with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs.

Places on this course are limited to the number of computers available at the venue.

Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August 2023

Unfortunately you will not be eligible to enrol on this course if you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull or Birmingham.

The course is FREE for those who are eligible to enrol on the course.

MEETING POINT HOUSE

Meeting Point House is wheelchair accessible and has a lift to the second floor, wheelchair accessible toilets are also available.

Car Parking

There are several car parks situated in the area around Southwater, the cheapest option for all day parking is: Brown Elm Car Park, Telford, TF3 4BX

Bus

Meeting Point House is a short walk away from Telford's main bus station, either through the shopping centre, or crossing over the road through the Brown Elm car park.
