This course is for parents, carers with a child who attend Old Park Primary and Nursery School.

This accredited course is intended as a progression for people who successfully completed the Level 1 course. 

By successfully completing this course you will achieve an Level 2 Award in Child Development (OCNWM)

You must attend all sessions to achieve the full award.

You will produce and submit a completed portfolio of your work and continually assessed throughout the 12 weeks. There is no final exam.

This course is for parents, carers with a child who attend Old Park Primary and Nursery School.

Parents do not need any previous experience. Any parents with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs. The course is available to all adults who have children in the school. If numbers applying for the course are high preference will be given to parents who: • Do not hold a full-level 2 qualification including English or maths. • Do not hold a level 2 Maths qualification • Do not hold a level 2 English qualification • Are unemployed or retired. • Are claiming JSA • Employed and looking to progress onto further Family Learning courses • Are parents/carers of children/young people who are entitled to free school meals. Parents who have been referred to the course for the purposes of improving their mental health and wellbeing

AIM Qualifications

Parents who want to progress to work in a school will need to gain a Level 2 qualification in English and maths. We offer a range of courses to gain these qualifications so please search the website for more details. An National Careers Service officer will visit the venue to advise on progression and employment.
