Course overview

This FREE course will give you the chance to explore some of the more popular holistic therapies within the wellness industry. The sessions will allow you to try some practical techniques and, if appropriate, practice these on yourself or peers.

This course will give you an insight into the various roles within holistic therapy with information about career progression.

You will have the opportunity to develop some understanding of how the treatments developed from a historical context and how they can be used practically & safely at home on a day-to-day basis.

During the course you will be given the opportunity to experience and develop skills in: Massage, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Reiki and Aromatherapy.  This will enable you you to:

  • Understand the benefits of each of these treatments.
  • Develop techniques to use safely at home on yourself or others.
  • Explore the history behind these practices and their cultural backgrounds.
  • Have an opportunity to discover how oils can benefit the skin.

The course is taught in an informal and friendly environment with an experienced tutor.

 

 

 

 

Session details

This course is for 5 weeks, please check you can attend every session for the whole course.
If these dates or times are not suitable, we will be offering more courses later in the year.

Once you've registered your interest, you will receive emails from us to keep you updated and to provide you with more information.

At the first session, your tutor will offer you details about the course, and a chance to ask any questions.

Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August 2025.

Unfortunately you will not be eligible to enrol on this course if you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull or Birmingham.

The course is FREE for those who are eligible to enrol on the course.

Accessibility

All areas of Park Lane Centre are fully accessible. All first floor facilities can be accessed via a lift. There are 2 separate accessible WC located on both the ground floor and first floor.

Car Parking

There are sufficient car parking spaces available both to the front and rear of the Centre.
