Course overview

This is a FREE computer course to improve your skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook email.

This course provides easy to follow practical activities in Microsoft Office, Word and how to communicate with emails in Outlook. You will have the opportunity to work at your own pace and ability, with support with an experienced tutor.

The course would require you to have a basic knowledge of how to use a computer or laptop.
If you are looking for an absolute beginner level course, register for Computer Confidence course. 

 

  • introduction to Microsoft Office
  • explore using the free online Microsoft Word program 
  • create a document and save to OneDrive (online storage for files) 
  • knowledge of staying safe using the internet and protect your personal information
  • send and receive emails with Outlook and calendar features 


The course is based at our brand new IT suite at Bishton Court, TF3 4JE (Opposite The Quad building, on the corner of Boyd Close and Ironmasters Way)


Places on this course are limited to the number of computers available.

Free tea and coffee is available at Bishton Court during your course, and free parking at Southwater multi-storey car park only.

Learners with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs.

Session details

This course is for 5 weeks, please check you can attend every session for the whole course.
If these dates or times are not suitable, we will be offering more courses later in the year.

Once you've registered your interest, you will receive emails from us to keep you updated and to provide you with more information.

At the first session, bring your ID and the tutor will offer you details about the course, and a chance to ask any questions.

Eligibility criteria

Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August 2025

Unfortunately you will not be eligible to enrol on this course if you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull or Birmingham.

The course is FREE for those who are eligible to enrol on the course.

Venue and accessibility

Bishton Court, TF3 4JE is situated in the new Station Quarter area, opposite The Quad building, on the corner of Boyd Close and Ironmasters Way.

Bishton Court is wheelchair accessible and is situated on the ground floor, wheelchair accessible toilets are also available.

Free tea and coffee are available at Bishton Court during your course.

Public transport

Bishton Court is only a short walk away from Telford bus station by walking through the shopping centre towards Aldi car park.  You then need to cross the road and walk through The Station Quarter and we are situated on the corner by The Quad building.  We are also only a short walk from Telford Train Station over the bridge. 

Free parking is available for the duration of your course at Southwater multi storey car park.  Ask your tutor for further information on the day. Use the postcode TF3 4BZ to take you to the Southwater multi storey car park

There is no parking onsite at Bishton Court.
