This is a new introductory course to understand about children and adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and provide an opportunity to learn through a supportive and informative approach.
This course is intended for parents and carers with children or adults with SEND, or anyone interested in looking for work within this area to support someone with SEND.
During this course you will learn about:
Learners with any special needs can discuss these with the tutor at the first session, to ensure that the course is suitable or can be adapted for their needs.
This course is for 5 weeks, please check you can attend every session for the whole course.
If these dates or times are not suitable, we will be offering more courses later in the year.
Once you've registered your interest, you will receive emails from us to keep you updated and to provide you with more information.
At the first session, bring your ID and the tutor will offer you details about the course, and a chance to ask any questions.
Learners must be aged 19 or over from 1st August 2026.
Unfortunately you will not be eligible to enrol on this course if you live in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull or Birmingham.
The course is FREE for those who are eligible to enrol on the course.

Learners can also progress onto other child related courses including Child Behaviour, Child Development Level 1 & 2, Supporting Children's Learning Level 1 and 2, Dyslexia Awareness Level 2.
