Course overview

Free training session for people who wish to work on construction sites.

The course covers the key fundamentals needed to understand and adhere to the codes of practice relevant to construction site work, including:

  • Legal Management: Learn about the legal responsibilities and management structures necessary for a safe working environment.
  • Health and Welfare: Understand the importance of maintaining health and welfare standards on site.
  • General Safety: Gain knowledge of general safety practices to minimise risks.
  • High-Risk Activities: Learn how to safely manage and engage in high-risk construction activities.
  • The Environment: Understand the environmental considerations and responsibilities on a construction site.

 

Assessment: The course concludes with a multiple-choice test (similar to a driving theory test), consisting of 40 questions. A minimum score of 32 out of 40 is required to pass. CSCS Card Process:

  • CITB Test: After completing the course, the final step to obtaining your CSCS card is passing the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment test. This separate test is arranged by your course manager and will be conducted at a CITB test center near you.
  • Certification: Upon successful completion of the CITB test, you will receive your CSCS card, which is valid for 2 years.

The session starts at 9.00am - 4.30 pm 

There will be comfort breaks and please remember to bring your own lunch.

This course is ideal for anyone looking to start or advance their career in the construction industry, providing the essential training needed to work safely on-site and meet industry standards.

Eligibility criteria

Open to everyone who is interested in following a career in construction aged 19 years or over.

There is a car park next to the venue, and bus routes from Telford travel to Sutton Hill.

There is access for wheelchairs.

Toilets are on-site.
